STRATEGIC PLANNING PROCESS

Vision without action is merely vision.” Past Lions International President James Ervin

The strategic planning process for District 5M4 started with a desire to provide a clear “road map” for the future.  The strategic plan currently focuses on seven areas which are deemed critical to the future success of the Lions organization in District 5M4.  Each strategic focus area has a vision statement followed by plan objectives to achieve this vision.  The strategic plan will be reviewed quarterly for progress and updated annually or more frequently based on need.

“The man who moved a mountain was the one who began carrying away small stones.”  Chinese Proverb

As the proverb states we will be able to accomplish great things just by taking small steps at a time.  Each strategic focus area contains action plans with measurable action steps, time frames and designated accountability to complete these action steps.  On a long journey you need to know how far you have traveled and if you are still headed in the right direction.  These action plans will provide the detailed “road map” and mile markers that allow us to measure our heading and progress.

“I am only one; still I am one.  I cannot do everything, but I still can do something.  I will not refuse to do the something I can do.”  Helen Keller

The strategic plan for District 5M4 will only work with all Lions, Lioness and Leos pulling together as a team.  Each person is a valuable contributor to the Lions vision of service.  Whether that contribution be at the Club level, District level, Multiple District level or International level, all contributions are needed and valued.

“How wonderful it is that nobody need wait a single moment before starting to improve the world.” Anne Frank

We prepared a vision, objectives and an action plan for the District.  Take it and apply the same concept to your Club.  Together we can improve the world!
